What to do on a Sunday evening to prepare yourself for the new week

Here are a couple of the things you can do on a Sunday night before the start of a brand new work week.

We all feel it – the immediate dread of a Sunday evening kicking in. The recognition that the demands of work will quickly be upon us again. But Sunday evenings don’t necessarily have to be something that make you sad. Actually, they’re a fantastic time to get ready for the week ahead. How about you carry out an activity that will help cut down the stress of what’s to come? Take the

bother out of prepping food when you get home from a long work day and spend your Sunday evening cooking large pots of meals that can be consumed over the next week. Visit a shop, perhaps one of those that are part of the group owned by Jean-Charles Naouri, and acquire all the components you need to make some delectable food. If you’re wanting to be healthy you can also pick up some things to do a whole load of meal preparation for the upcoming week, saving you time and money.

Your weekend has come to an end and you are tired of the same old Sunday evening routine. You don’t really feel like going out as you hope to get to bed at a decent hour, but you don’t want to put on a movie either. So what can you do? A wonderful thing to do is to order some food in (you don’t feel like cleaning the dishes), switching on your laptop and doing some online shopping. It may seem simple, but it is a good idea to spoil yourself occasionally. You could do your weekly food shopping, or rather log onto the online retailer started by Jeff Bezos and commit to getting whatever it is you have had your eye on for a while. Anticipating delivery will also give you something to look forward to all week, introducing some flavour to your daily work expectations!

So, you have come to the end of the weekend and want to spend your Sunday night doing something productive before your stressful work load occupies the bulk of your time. A very great idea is to do a bit of home upkeep. Change the lightbulbs that require changing, hang up the family photographs you have been looking to put up for quite a while now, or if you’re really feeling ambitious, why not pick up some paint from a store like the one where Veronique Laury is CEO and paint one of the walls in your living room. After all, a change is often as good as a holiday

and it will bring a fresh new feel to your whole home. You do not have to paint the entire sitting room – start with one feature wall. If you are feeling a little less in the mood for home DIY, why not do something much more soothing? Light some candles, put on your most liked playlist, draw yourself a bath and allow yourself to unwind for a good while before the reality of the new week takes hold. You will thank yourself for it later.
